GUIDED BIRDING & NATURE OUTINGS
Join our expert local guide
Summer Hours  6:30AM – 2:30PM

We’ll seek out area bird specialties and share knowledge about the region’s fantastic biodiversity. Along with birds we look for javelina, coatimundi, wildflowers, scenic vistas and more.

June-September our guided birding and nature outings will be booked as custom tours, as guides are available. If you book an outing and would like the cost savings of a larger group (maximum of 8, most are 4-6 with 2 vehicles) we can post the opportunity with our lodge owners to see if others might join you. We can also book shorter days 6:30AM-NOON, on request.  We request booking as far in advance as possible as our guides have limited availability. We do look forward to meeting you and sharing the signature species of our region!

Cost of a guided Birding & Nature Walk is $60.00 per person, with 3 or more persons.
1-2 persons can be accommodated for additional cost. Included in your cost is a post-trip report with species list for the day.

As available we can arrange for a custom guide on alternate dates or for existing groups.
(Note: our scheduled Night Walks and Owling begin in April)

OWLING OUTINGS
Please book as a custom outing, subject to guide availability.

Join us for 2-3 hours of finding owls and other night birds. Naturalists will introduce the species and drive to areas where we are likely to hear, and hopefully see, various species. Elf Owl, Whiskered Screech Owl, Western Screech Owl and Great Horned Owl are seen often. Spotted Owls are seen infrequently and Flammulated Owls are local and, compared to other species, rare. We may also find Poorwills and Whip-poor-wills. We try to stay near open areas, roads and trails when possible. Bring a flashlight.

COST FOR OWLING Outings
generally 2-3 hours, meeting time changes with sunset, check posting or inquire.
7-8 persons   $35.00 pp.
4-6 persons   $40.00 pp.
3 persons      $50.00 pp.
2 persons      $75.00 pp.

Receive a $10.00 per person discount on owling if you have booked a day trip within the same week. LOCALS receive discounts as space is available – please call or email to inquire.
